5. She stayed by his side until his last breath.
Since Cordero was admitted to the hospital with COVID-19 in March, Kloots did not leave her husband’s side. Even when she was not physically allowed in the hospital room, Kloots found ways to comfort him and show her support. The fitness instructor continuously shared updates on his progress throughout his journey, and strove to remain positive the entire time.
When Cordero passed away, Kloots shared a
heartbreaking Instagram post
revealing the news and honoring her late husband. “I am in disbelief and hurting everywhere. My heart is broken as I cannot imagine our lives without him,” she wrote. “Nick was such a bright light. He was everyone’s friend, loved to listen, help and especially talk. He was an incredible actor and musician. He loved his family and loved being a father and husband.

Elvis and I will miss him in everything we do, every day.”
She went on to thank the essential workers who cared for him and also everyone who supported them while Cordero fought for his life.
“You have no idea how much you lifted my spirits at 3 p.m. every day as the world sang Nick’s song, ‘Live Your Life,’” she wrote. “We sang it to him today, holding his hands. As I sang the last line to him, ‘they’ll give you hell but don’t you light them kill your light not without a fight. Live your life,’ I smiled because he definitely put up a fight. I will love you forever and always my sweet man.”
